Giggleswick is a picturesque village, just ¾ of a mile from the old market town of Settle and in the heart of Ribblesdale’s famous walking country. In the locality walking, cycling, golf, caving, climbing and fishing can be enjoyed. Pony trekking can also be enjoyed.
The Three Peaks – Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent are a huge draw for walkers. The river Ribble runs through the village and offers beautiful but less challenging riverside walks. Giggleswick village has two pubs and a local tea shop/convenience store.
You can easily walk to the market town of Settle. Local amenities in Settle include a swimming pool, restaurants, wine bar, traditional Fish and Chip shops, tea rooms and three supermarkets.
Giggleswick is a good touring base and it is only 40 minutes from the Lake District. You can easily visit Kendal, Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. The popular market town of Skipton is only a 30 minute drive. Popular local visitor attractions are the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway, Gisburn Forest, Whitescar Cave in Ingleton and the scenic Waterfall walk from Ingleton village.

Wigglesworth is in a superb open countryside setting close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a wonderful rural haven with plenty of local walks & cycle paths in Gisburn Forest. Trout fishing is available on Stocks Reservoir and there is plenty of birds and wildlife for you to see.
Long Preston is a pretty Yorkshire Dales village in Malhamdale. The village has a number of tree lined, village greens, with access to footpaths leading to nearby hills. Long Preston has two excellent pubs.
The scenic Settle to Carlisle railway is just 10 minutes’ drive away in Settle. The market towns of Skipton and Clitheroe are both within easy reach. Wigglesworth is an excellent base for exploring the whole of the Dales, Lake District, Trough of Bowland and the West Coast. Local landmarks including Malham Cove, Ingleton Waterfalls and The Three Peaks are worth visiting.
