Hutton le Hole is a picturesque village with an attractive pub and plenty of tearooms/gift shops. You can visit the Ryedale Folk Museum where you can discover the history of the Ryedale area. Many old buildings, including Blacksmiths, Manor House, Village Shop & Crofter’s Cottage have been reconstructed to their former glory.
A lovely stream runs through the middle of the village and is great for picnics. You are very likely to be kept company by the sheep that graze throughout the village. The Craft Workshops are a popular place to visit and include the Chocolate Factory.
Hutton le Hole is a great base for touring the North York Moors National Park and Yorkshire Heritage Coastline. An abundant choice of walking and cycling opportunities are available in all directions.
The charming village of Lastingham lies just 2 miles from Hutton le Hole. It is very pretty village and has an historic church with an ancient crypt. The Blacksmiths Arms at Lastingham is a lovely ‘olde worlde’ pub. Appleton-le-Moors is a delightful village with sheep grazing the wide green verges and the popular Moors Inn pub. The nearby town of Kirkbymoorside (4 miles) has shops, pubs and restaurants.
