Rosedale Abbey is the main village location with shops, pubs serving food and tea rooms.

Visit the Gillies Jones Glass Studio to view fine contemporary blown glass. You can play golf on the local 9-hole course at Thorgill.

This is an excellent location for walking, cycling and exploring the breath-taking North York Moors. Lovely scenic car journeys are available in all directions. The views over Rosedale valley from the Rosedale Bank Top are truly outstanding. A circular walk around the valley is very worthwhile.

The market towns of Pickering (10 miles) and Kirkbymoorside (8 miles) offer everyday shopping. Many visitor attractions are within easy reach of Rosedale – The Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton le Hole is an excellent place to learn about the history of the area. Nearby Pickering hosts the southern terminus of the popular North Yorkshire Moors Railway – you can easily visit historic York and the popular seaside resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey & Bridlington.
