The Grassington area has a number of villages with many excellent holiday cottages. These properties are located in the heart of Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Walkers and outdoor enthusiasts are well served with ‘The Dales Way’ and many other walks leading into the beautiful rolling countryside.
Nearby Grassington village has a number of high quality shops, tearooms, restaurants and inns mostly in the cobbled market square. The Grassington Festival is held in late June and the annual Dickensian weekends take place in December.
Skipton with its medieval castle and bustling market is the main local town. The 12th Century ruins of Bolton Abbey Priory, situated on the banks of the River Wharfe offers lovely picnic areas and woodland walks. Burnsall is a popular village and beauty spot beside the lovely River Wharfe. Parcevall Hall Gardens offer a formal and woodland gardens with superb views of Simon’s Seat and the surrounding Dales countryside. Stump Cross Caverns, located near Pately Bridge, are one of Britain’s premier show caves.

The road from Grimwith Reservoir car park is a dirt track road, it is bumpy & occasionally has potholes. Sports or lowered cars will not be able to pass on this road.
