This outstanding waterfall is at its most spectacular following heavy rainfall. In the village you will find a couple of tea rooms and pubs. Aysgarth is located in between the Dales towns of Hawes and Leyburn where you can enjoy a large selection of shops, restaurants, gift and food shops.

Carperby village is in the heart of Herriot Country. Alf Wight, better known as the writer James Herriot, spent his honeymoon in Carperby’s village inn. West Burton is a pretty village with a short woodland walk to the impressive West Burton Falls.

The surrounding countryside is magnificent and ideal for walkers. The whole of the Yorkshire Dales are easily reached by car. The well preserved Bolton Castle, near Leyburn offers a fun family day out and The Forbidden Corner at Middleham is a popular excursion.

If you wish to venture further afield it is possible to have day trips to the North York Moors or the Lake District.
