Pateley Bridge High Street
Pateley Bridge is located at the head of beautiful Nidderdale. It is the host of the award winning Nidderdale Museum, where you find local memorabilia and learn about life in Nidderdale. The village amenities of Pateley Bridge include many shops, including the oldest sweet shop in England, shops that sell local produce, tearooms, pubs and an indoor swimming pool at the Nidderdale Pool & Leisure Centre.
The town makes an excellent base for exploring a region known as Little Switzerland, including nearby How Stean Gorge, a spectacular limestone gorge almost 70ft deep, and the World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey. The ‘Nidderdale Way’ is a circular walk that passes through Pateley Bridge.
Nearby Brimham Rocks, with its fantastic rock formations, is a great place to explore. The area is ideally located to explore the wonderful landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park on foot or by bicycle. The attractive spa town of Harrogate is 13 miles away.
