The village is on the main bus route to Helmsley, Pickering & Scarborough. There is a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants in the nearby market towns Pickering & Kirkbymoorside. Market day is Monday at Pickering and Wednesday at Kirkbymoorside.

Visit nearby Cropton for brewery tours at the New Inn pub. Enjoy fantastic walks and spectacular moorland views at the historic Cawthorne Roman Camps. At Pickering you can take a trip across the moors to Whitby on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, visit Pickering Castle and the Beck Isle Museum.

The village of Wrelton is an excellent touring base for the North York Moors National Park and the coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. Nunnington Hall, Helmsley Castle, Helmsley Walled Garden, Flamingo Land and Eden Camp are a short drive away. There are multiple visitor attractions in the City of York, including the National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre, and this is less than an hours drive away.
